Wheel Balancing

Wheel Balancing

What you should know

Incorrect balancing not only causes vibration in the steering wheel and dashboard but can also cost you money! Incorrect balancing causes premature wear of tyres and rapid wear of suspension parts.

If you find that your steering ‘wobbles’ above a certain speed, this may be a sign that your wheels are not balanced properly. If left, this can not only be uncomfortable to drive, but may affect the performance of your vehicle.

  • Tyres against uneven and increased wear

When you purchase new tyres from Tyre Express we will always balance your wheels. This is because new tyres will often have inconsistencies in the rubber compound – wheel balancing will take account of this and encourage even wear on your new tyres.

You should also have your wheels checked or balanced after an impact such as a kerb, pothole or stone, when a tyre looks abnormal or every 10,000 miles.

At Tyre Express, the latest balancing equipment allows wheels to be balanced with great accuracy, to the nearest gram.
